From the release of Project Ara to the Galaxy Note 5 and AnDevCon, there are still plenty of huge dates to come this year. Here are a few you should keep an eye open for over the remainder of 2015, as there are plenty of flagship phones still to be seen and plenty of huge events to keep us occupied.

Mi Note Pro
Xiaomi’s new high end smartphone is said to have the best specs of any phone on the market, featuring curved gorilla glass 3 with a 5.7 inch display, Octocore  SnapDragon 810 processor and 4GB of Ram. For the insane price of $532. Whilst we don’t know the exact release date yet, Xiaomi have confirmed it will be in the next two weeks.

AnDevCon
The biggest Android development conference of the year will be in Boston from July 29th until the 31st and in Santa Clara from December 1st until the 3rd. This year will see in excess of 75 tech classes and tutorials, meet and greets with the Google team, and more. There are over 35 expert speakers and practitioners and over 50 third party vendors.

I/O
Google’s biggest event of the year is taking place on May 28th and 29th. The event has seen workshops on every aspect of the tech giant. We may well even hear further details of Google’s new mnvo network, which should also finally quell rumors that are flying around.

One Plus Two
In an interview with Carl Pei in January, he stated that the device will be available in the next six months, taking us to June. The device is the high end budget successor to the One Plus One, renowned for its unique by invitation only sales tactics, and cheap prices.

Project Ara:
Whilst the date for the release of Google’s modular Smart phone is still to be announced, rumors are that the market trials which will be based in Puerto Rico are to start in August of 2015. Project Ara is gaining popularity through partnerships with companies such as Yezz and Toshiba.

Galaxy Note 5

September will bring the successor to the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s popular high-end phablet. Rumors state that we can expect a 4K display, a 21mp rear camera and a Exynos 7420 chipset. If the S6 is anything to go by, we could see wireless charging, no removable battery and no external storage. Like previous years, we should see this unveiled at IFA.

IFA
IFA in Berlin has been a significant conference for tech in the last few years, seeing the likes of Samsung’s unpacked events. This will take place on the 4th until the 9th of September.

Nexus 6
The next iteration of the nexus 6, which will most likely be made by Chinese company Huawei, will be heading our way around October. The flagship device may well feature one of Huawei’s own Kirin 930 16nm chipsets. The device will also be the first to run on Google’s new MNVO network.

With all this and more coming up, this should be an exciting year. Between the high end specs of the note 5 and Mi note Pro, we should see some impressive leaps forward in technology. Competition is always good for business and with these high end phones we will see many companies battling for the title of “highest spec phone yet”.
